Welcome to what is intended to be a regular monthly news bulletin, aimed at keeping Seniors Section golfers informed of forthcoming events and providing general information to enhance the enjoyment of your golf in the Seniors Section.

Forthcoming Social Events
10th June – Golf Club horse race evening. Repeat of last year’s very enjoyable event to be organised by Robbie Williams, who will no doubt be issuing more information soon.
General Information.
A Seniors Mixed Open is scheduled for 23rd September. Previously arranged by the Ladies Section, Marion Workman has asked us for assistance from either a Senior or Senior and wife or partner, who play mixed social golf, to arrange the event this year.
The Ladies Section needs help on this event and it is hoped that someone from the men’s section will respond by agreeing to arrange this important Club income opportunity.
The Ladies Section will be holding a Tombola event on 26/4 and have put out a request to us for donations of modest prizes such as bottles, golf balls etc.
The Ladies will reciprocate by assisting on our open days booking in /selling raffle tickets etc.
February saw the introduction of temporary handicap reductions, meant as a bit of fun and purely intended for social golf.
In summary, Seniors players announced as winning a Tuesday social golf competition will receive a temporary 2 shot reduction in their handicap and the runner up 1 shot reduction, for the duration of that calendar month.
Finally, it would be good for Senior Section members to contribute to future news bulletins, perhaps under the heading of a “have your say” section.
Your feedback and comment would be appreciated.
Meanwhile, happy and successful golf in March.
